This article is a guide on how to use the clone base rosters feature. Cloning a base roster allows schedulers to quickly duplicate an existing roster, making it easier and more efficient to create a base roster, especially if they share similar details. When cloning a roster, details such as contact availability templates, sessions with worker appointments, client appointments and planned services are also cloned into the new roster.

- Navigate to the roster you would like to clone.
- Select the Clone button, located to the right of your screen.
- This will launch a new modal. The following table explains the purpose of the fields. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk.
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Roster Name* | By default, the roster name will be the same as the roster you are cloning with the addition of the word clone. The name of the roster should make it easy to identify what this roster is for, whether it's for a specific house, region or group of workers. This is the name you'll use to search for your roster when you're using it to create roster periods. |
| Roster frequency * | The roster frequency indicates the number of weeks covered by a full cycle of this roster. This field is view only and cannot be changed. The roster frequency will remain the same as the roster it was cloned from. |
| Budget | By default, the budget will be the same as the roster you are cloning. It is an optional field the shows a budget for the overall cost of workers rostered in the period |
| Is Active* | A tick in this checkbox allows the use of the base roster for the creation of roster periods. For new base rosters, the checkbox is ticked by default. |
| Start Date* | The start date will set the first day of the week for all roster periods created. Roster periods created from a base roster must start with a date that corresponds to the first day of the base roster. In our example, this would be a Monday. |
| Site | It is an optional field that links the base roster to a site. |
- Click the Clone button to confirm. Do not close the window or modal whilst the screen is loading to ensure all records are cloned successfully.
- A notification will appear once the Base roster is cloned successfully.
