The Roster Period Award Estimation feature provides schedulers with the ability to estimate payroll costs before finalising roster periods. When you click the "Estimate Award Interpretation" button on a roster period, the system fires a job that processes worker appointment times and calculates estimated award interpretation costs.
This estimation tool helps organisations forecast labour costs, identify potential award compliance issues, and make informed rostering decisions before appointments are locked in for payroll processing.
What Gets Calculated
The estimation engine processes worked time for each appointment and applies the relevant award interpretation rules to calculate:
Ordinary time rates
Overtime penalties
Weekend and public holiday loadings
Time-of-day penalties (shift work, night work, etc.)
Supported allowances (see below for details)

The following award interpretation components are fully supported in the estimation process:

Note: Hourly, Daily, Weekly, and Frequency allowances listed above refer to allowances that are automatically created and calculated by the Interpretation Rule configuration.
Known Limitations
The following features are not currently supported in the award estimation process. Lumary is actively working to address these gaps in future releases.
