Lumary WFM - This article explains how to add, remove or adjust the scheduled time for breaks, paid breaks and sleepovers as well as managing any payroll allowances or variations applicable to the session or shift.
Follow these steps to add, remove or change the type of a session activity:
- Right-click the session from the base roster, roster period or live schedule.
- Select Modify Session Activities (if modifying a session) OR Modify Shift Activities (if modifying a shift) from the menu.
- Click the + button to add a new session activity.
- Complete the form:
- Worker assigned
- Record type (e.g., break, sleepover, wake-up, overtime, higher duty, allowance)
- Paid/unpaid checkbox if applicable
- Category if applicable
- Start and end times (must fall within the session times)
- Click Save Session Activity to apply changes.
- If there is an existing session activity you wish to edit, click the drop down arrow, click the pencil icon to make changes, then click Save Session Activity to apply changes.
- Click Save.
To adjust only the scheduled time of a session activity, this can also be done from the Modify Session Times right-click action.
Modifying session activities can affect payroll, awards, and leave calculations. Validation alerts may appear if there are conflicts with worker availability, session times, or attendance rules. Hover over the alert icon to see details.
Tips and best practices
- If using shifts, break and sleepover activities should be added to the shift, not to child sessions.
- When adding breaks or overtime, make sure to update the start and end times accurately in line with award requirements.
- Consider updating session activities in the base roster if they will apply to multiple roster periods, reducing repetitive updates.
