This article explains how to assign existing sessions to a shift. This helps group sessions under one worker for easier management, clock-ins, and payroll calculations.
Before assigning sessions to a shift, make sure both the shift and the sessions already exist on the rostering calendar.
To assign a session to a shift:
- Right-click the session from the base roster, roster period or live schedule.
- Select Modify Workers from the dropdown.
- In the pop-up, find the Shift field on the right-hand side.
The session will only be assigned to a shift if it meets the compatibility rules:
- The worker assigned to the session matches the worker on the shift (or both are unassigned).
- The session’s start and end times fall within the shift’s overall start and end times.
- Select the shift you want to assign the session to.
- Click Save.
The session will now appear indented under the shift with a blue bar on the left-hand side, showing it’s linked to the shift.
If your shift does not appear like the above example, check the View dropdown at the top of the calendar.
- Click the Session View/Shift View dropdown.
- Select Shift & Session View.
